A new version of software for the numerical calculation of the critical temperature of the formation of contrails with implementation of the calculation of mixing ratio, relative humidity and maximum temperature of ice persistence (persistence in the Tmax for diagram Appleman).
Estimates of persistence is determined by values \u200b\u200bof relative humidity on ice greater than or equal to 100% and is only reliable if the data provided in input (especially relative humidity) are free from errors. In this regard it should be noted that the probes provide daily weather parameters at different heights significantly underestimating the value of relative humidity with the result that the percentage of relative humidity over ice is calculated to be less than the real value in the atmosphere.
